[jira] Created: (LUCENE-1250) Some equals methods do not check for null argument

JIRA jira@apache.org
Some equals methods do not check for null argument
--------------------------------------------------

                 Key: LUCENE-1250
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-1250
             Project: Lucene - Java
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Index, Search
    Affects Versions: 2.3.1, 2.3.2
            Reporter: David Dillard
            Priority: Minor

The equals methods in the following classes do not check for a null argument and thus would incorrectly fail with a null pointer exception if passed null:
<ul>
<li>org.apache.lucene.index.SegmentInfo</li>
<li>org.apache.lucene.search.function.CustomScoreQuery</li>
<li>org.apache.lucene.search.function.OrdFieldSource</li>
<li>org.apache.lucene.search.function.ReverseOrdFieldSource</li>
<li>org.apache.lucene.search.function.ValueSourceQuery</li>
</ul>

If a null parameter is passed to <code>equals()</code> then <code>false</code> should be returned.

[jira] Updated: (LUCENE-1250) Some equals methods do not check for null argument

JIRA jira@apache.org

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-1250?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

David Dillard updated LUCENE-1250:
----------------------------------

    Description:
The equals methods in the following classes do not check for a null argument and thus would incorrectly fail with a null pointer exception if passed null:

- org.apache.lucene.index.SegmentInfo
- org.apache.lucene.search.function.CustomScoreQuery
- org.apache.lucene.search.function.OrdFieldSource
- org.apache.lucene.search.function.ReverseOrdFieldSource
- org.apache.lucene.search.function.ValueSourceQuery

If a null parameter is passed to equals() then false should be returned.
