TIKA build error

Thejan Wijesinghe
With the latest commits of TIKA, it fails to build in my system because one
of the unit tests in TIKA parsers gets failed. This is the failed test.

Results :

Failed tests:
  ODFParserTest.testOO2Metadata:196 expected:<[]> but was:<[

]>
Tests in error:
  ODFParserTest.testNullStylesInODTFooter:367 » WriteLimitReached Your
document ...

ODFParserTest.testParagraphLevelFontStyles:388->TikaTest.getXML:191->TikaTest.getXML:205

Re: TIKA build error

Hi Thejan,

What OS/version and Java/version?

Also, what SVN revision from (I assume) master?

Thanks,

— Ken

PS - I see another user (Raunaq) reported the same issue yesterday, also on this list. Though that report was also missing details on OS/java used.

Hi Ken,

I also came across his report and the failing unit test is also same. I am
using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Java version is Oracle JDK 8. Yes it is from the
master. I assume this is a problem with a recent commit. Not sure though.

Thanks,

In reply to this post by Thejan Wijesinghe
Y, that could be triggered by my recent work with the ODT parser.  My unit tests are passing on Windows, and I think everything worked in Jenkins (Linux).

I'll take a look today.

Hmm...

I'm not able to reproduce this on Windows or:
RHEL 6.5/openjdk version "1.8.0_121"

Are you pulling from our new repository on github?

git clone https://github.com/apache/tika.git

Hi

Yes.

mvn clean install

Still getting the same error.

RE: TIKA build error

Allison, Timothy B.
OK, thank you for confirming.

Hmm... I switched out my open jdk for Oracle 1.8.0_121, and I'm still  not able to replicate this.

What specific version/build of Java are you using?

I modified the first two unit tests that were causing problems.  Give those a try.

Can you give the full stacktrace for the third problem?

RE: TIKA build error

Allison, Timothy B.
When in doubt, step away from the keyboard.  I suspect this was caused by Tesseract, which I'm now in the habit of turning off for builds because of extra time.

I just pushed a fix for the three tests.  Please git trunk a try and let us know how it goes.
